Stage 1: Sensing – The Digital Nervous System
Our system begins with a network of high-precision, submersible sensors deployed directly into the pond. These sensors continuously monitor two critical water quality parameters in real-time:
Temperature Sensor: Detects fluctuations with ±0.5°C accuracy, identifying the onset of "cold shock" conditions below the optimal 25°C threshold.
pH Sensor: Measures acidity or alkalinity levels with high sensitivity, flagging dangerous imbalances outside the ideal 6.5–8.5 range.
Data is sampled at frequent intervals and transmitted wirelessly via a low-power microcontroller to our cloud-based platform.
MetaPond's proprietary digital twin platform ingests the raw sensor data. Here, the physical pond is replicated as a dynamic virtual model. The processing phase involves:
Data Aggregation & Normalization: Incoming data streams are cleaned and structured for analysis.
Real-Time Analytics: The digital twin applies predefined rule-based logic to evaluate current conditions against optimal growth parameters for tilapia (Temperature: 25–30°C; pH: 6.5–8.5).
Predictive Risk Assessment: The system continuously compares current trends against historical data and external weather forecasts to anticipate future risks, such as a sudden temperature drop due to an impending storm.
This layer transforms raw numbers into actionable intelligence, providing a "virtual mirror" that predicts the pond's future health.
MetaPond triggers two types of actions:
A. Automated Control (Closed-Loop Response):
The platform directly interfaces with actuators to stabilize the pond environment without human intervention:
If temperature falls below the optimal range, a heating element is automatically activated.
If pH deviates from the safe zone, the system can trigger a dosing pump to release a buffering solution (e.g., sodium bicarbonate) to correct the imbalance.
B. Alert & Notification (Human-in-the-Loop):
Concurrently, farmers receive instant notifications via the dashboard. These alerts provide:
Real-Time Status Updates: "Temperature dropped to 24°C. Heater activated."
Actionable Recommendations: "pH level is 8.9. Recommended: Add 500g of organic acid. Click to confirm."
Predictive Warnings: "Weather forecast: Cold front in 12 hours. Suggest activating thermal cover."
This closed-loop system ensures zero-delay response, turning a passive pond into an actively managed, resilient aquaculture ecosystem.
